Job Overview:
Primoris Services Corporation is searching for a Director of Compensation based in the Dallas Texas area. This position will ultimately be responsible for the compensation function and will report into the Vice President of Total Rewards and HRIS. The Director of Compensation will be integral in leading the development, implementation, and management of broad-based compensation strategies and programs. In addition, they will also be involved with executive compensation strategies and programs.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Compensation department which includes three direct reports.
- Provide guidance and oversight for incentive plans and programs, job architecture design, merit and salary structure design and administration, governance-related activities and deliverables, and all aspects of compensation advising and consultation.
- Develop communication strategies and materials to educate employees on compensation programs, policies, and practices, ensuring understanding and engagement across a diverse organization.
- Lead the design, development, and execution of compensation programs that attract, retain, and motivate employees.
- Oversee the administration of the annual salary review, cash incentives, long-term incentives, employee stock purchase plan and other similar programs.
- Monitor market trends and industry benchmarks to ensure that our programs remain competitive. Provide in depth market analysis for executive decision making.
- Provide consultation to the HR team on compensation processes including new hires, promotions, and job changes.
- Collaborate with Business Leaders/HR Business Partners to ensure the needs of the business are met.
- Manage the development of the company’s job architecture, job description and job codes.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to compensation programs.
- Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes impacting compensation and proactively implement industry best practices.
- Participate in executive compensation activities including the development of materials for the Compensation Committee, drafting the CD&A and interfacing with the independent consultants.
- Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports to aid in their development.
- Develop and track the team’s budget. Select appropriate salary surveys and oversee participation.
- Experience in building out a compensation project management plan including scoping, planning, and execution with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Work with the executive leadership team on incentive design and other relevant pay strategies across the organization.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in business, finance or related field plus a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in compensation management, with a track record of success in designing and implementing effective compensation programs.
- Construction industry and executive compensation in a publicly traded company preferred.
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) designation preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Expert knowledge of relevant Federal, State, Local laws, regulations relating to compensation.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to clearly define problems, collect data, draw conclusions, and effectively influence others.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Deep understanding of compensation principles, practices, and methodologies, with specific expertise in job architecture, evaluation, salary benchmarking, and incentive design.
- Strong executive presence and ability to work effectively with senior leadership.
- Expert with the full spectrum of approaches and tools used for compensation-related market research, modeling and analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives at the same time.
