The Human Resources/Recruitment Assistant is responsible for assisting with recruitment and human resources on an administrative level while working closely with senior HR management. This position will also provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to learn and develop in other areas of human resource including payroll support, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
Responsibilities
- Supports in the administration process of recruitment and assists with various human resource plans and procedures.
- Assists in the overall recruitment function for the customer and our clients including posting, screening, pre-screening and other related duties.
- Ability to support and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Coordinates in maintaining recruitment information records and reporting.
- Promotes job openings on social media using creative job advertisements.
- Screening applicants via video conference
- Creating relationships with job seekers
- Assist HR Manager with maintenance of human resource records and audits
- Promotes job openings on social media using creative job advertisements.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required

Competencies
- At least 1-year previous human resource experience, training, or education and/or transferable professional administrative experience
- Proficient with mac and iOS
- Demonstrated proficiency in Google Workspace (G Suite), Microsoft Office 365
- Experience scheduling and conducting meetings via Teams and Zoom
- Experience working with multiple job boards and applicant tracking systems preferred
- Experience with using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
- Must have great organizational skills AND attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as an important member of the department.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or listen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files and cases up to 25 pounds, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, in office position. This is not a hybrid or remote position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime, evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Minimal travel may be required to meet with local clients on site in the Hampton Roads Area.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
