Description
- The Admissions Nurse will act as the initial contact as necessary with family or responsible party to initiate tour of facility and follow up procedures with discharge planners only if they contact the facility. They will manage mission process to include: conducting effective tours that promote conversion to admission (to be at 75% conversion), timely completion of admission paperwork (within 72 hours after admission), coordinate clinical and financial approvals for admission (to not go past 2 hours), communication with families and staff to ensure admission process is seamless. Finally, they will assist in marketing the many fantastic health care services we offer to potential patients/ residents by periodically making outside sales call on community referral sources throughout the week.
Qualifications
- Ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator, leader and motivator
- Able to organize and prioritize many task effectively
- 2 years experience Admissions position in healthcare environment preferred
- Long Term Care Experience preferred
- Knowledge of Medicate and 3rd Party billing
- Knowledge of medical terminology--ability to discuss clinical evaluations with patient, family, referral sources and staff
- Must be detailed oriented and have excellent customer service skills
- Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required
- Must be able to travel by personal automobile as required
- Must be organized and a multitasker
- Must be proficient in social media, Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, and Microsoft power point
- Maintains incoming referrals, tours, inquiries, and phone calls with documented follow up attempts and outcomes
