Job Summary
Responsible for the procurement of a wide variety of stock and non-stock products, services and equipment at the most favorable terms for the organization. Placement of purchase orders will be with either an approved supplier and/or in compliance with the group purchasing organization (GPO) contracts. Tracks purchases and is responsible for follow up and expediting purchase orders. Acts as a liaison between the customer and supplier.Accountabilities
- Responsible for e-requisition cloning into a purchase order.
- Responsible to reviewing requisitions for provided information accuracy to include but is not limited to information completeness, accuracy, and internal customer expectations.
- Utilization of all computer related systems and software in the performance of job function to include but is not limited to; purchase orders, invoices, and reports.
- Responsible for work quality (i.e. accuracy) as it relates to purchase order information, InFor databases (i.e. part file), request for and complete information for new additions to the part file, GHX, and to the closing of purchase orders.
- Knows and applies knowledge about GHS and GPO contracts and communicates updates changes as appropriate.
- Coordinates with Materials Management, Accounts Payable, internal customers, and suppliers to ensure the timely resolution of issues related to purchase orders, product availability, receiving, and invoice discrepancies.
- Completes and submits reports as required within specified timeframes.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Bachelor's Degree, Business or Supply Chain preferred
Experience - 2 years in purchasing

In Lieu Of The Minimum Requirements Listed Above
Associates Degree and five (5) years Purchasing experience or High School with ten (10) years Purchasing experience.
