International equipment company located in the tri-cities area of Virginia looking for a Working Shop Manager. This position requires a people person, capable of motivating their workforce. Candidate should have an electrical and mechanical background.
Responsibilities include:
- manage a workforce of traveling and on-site technicians ensuring continuous productivity
- set ambitious goals and manage personnel to achieve these goals
- provide motivation, support and guidance to all employees
- liaison with other departments, providing technical assistance and support to help them achieve their goals
- establish policies that enhance the efficiency of our personnel
- communicate goals, achievements, problems and obstacles to management
- ensure employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines
Required skills:
- 5 years experience in management
- excellent project management skills
- ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis, as well as a group
- an electrical and/or mechanical background is advantageous
