Summary Description
The laboratory technologist/technician will work under the supervision of the lab supervisor to perform tests that help physicians diagnose and treat diseases. Laboratory technologists/technicians prepare samples for analysis, performs various chemical, microscopic, microbiologic, or immunologic tests, documents all quality control procedures, and maintains analyzers. ProLab, LLC is looking for a Technologist/Technician with molecular experience to work in our new molecular laboratory.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related discipline required
- Molecular Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician
- Strong problem-solving, training, team building, and mentoring abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use computers to enter information and analyze results
- Ability to multitask
Essential Job Functions:
- Adhere to all relevant health, safety and regulatory requirements
- Protect and promote the rights of the patient by maintaining the confidentiality of protected health information collected
- Ability and willingness to make critical decisions
- Perform calibrations and monitor all controls on all testing
- Answer questions from physicians and/or staff when needed
- Ensure patient results are reported timely and accurately
- Knowledge of critical values and call all critical to physician/nurses
- Assist others with and perform lab techniques
- Ensure that environmental requirements are met at the federal, state, and local government levels
- Sample testing
- Collect and interpret sample data
- Maintain accurate records and reporting of data
- Troubleshoot analyzers
- Participate in continuing education

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will operate sophisticated equipment and instruments to identify results. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. An employee is required to often wear eye shields, gloves and other gear to prevent the spread of infection and to protect themselves from solutions and reagents used in testing.
