What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager position at Pro Star Mechanical?
PRO STAR MECHANICAL DELIVERS COMMERCIAL HOT WATER AND HVAC SOLUTIONS ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A GENERAL MANAGER TO START IMMEDIATELY.
Responsibilities
· Participate in marketing & sales opportunities – includes developing leads and conducting follow up meetings/calls with new and existing clients to get feedback and grow more business; Provide custom quotes for installs and repairs of boilers, HVAC systems adn mechanical plumbing repairs. Communicating with customers for emergency repairs and change orders
· Site visits and involvement in project design and completion for all major installations & repairs; follow up on client feedback and complaints if any
· Technical support for all field staff – including designing and facilitating in-house training
· HR support responsibilities include Complain/conflict resolution – with clients and within crew members
· Purchasing & inventory management – Stock checking; setting min-max levels; placing on time POs, price checking to ensure competitive procurement pricing; ensuring a well-stocked warehouse of regularly needed parts and supplies; regularly replenish truck inventory; scoping, pricing and providing equipment and parts for all work produced accurately and in a timely manner, especially on the hot water side; tracking usage of parts
· Maintain and update accurate price sheets and vendor catalogs
· Job costing for all projects over $5,000
· Timely warranty resolution for equipment & parts in case of premature failure
· Other administrative responsibilities – Fleet management; scheduling & dispatching; after hours calls and coverage
· Provide back up for CEO & Accounting
· Manage and oversee daily operations of boiler division.
· Review work orders and estimates from field technicians.
· Scheduling installs/replacements of boiler and water heating systems with customer and dispatcher.
· Contacting and scheduling with outside vendors when contract work is needed.
· Meet regularly with CEO to review branch productivity and opportunities.
· Maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
· Visit customer properties to ensure they are receiving quality service.
· Provide customers with proposals for replacement of commercial water heater and boiler systems.
· Provide in house and field training for technicians.
· Provide tech support and assist in troubleshooting to our technicians when needed.
· Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on boiler and water heaters.
Qualifications and Experience
Management experience for 5 years or more in a service business; experience in managing people and materials.
Skills and General Abilities
All employees must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record and be able to pass drug & background checks. Must be skilled in working with customers to help solve their problems and generate revenue. Excellent customer relations and communication skills are essential for this position.
Pay and Benefits
We offer competitive compensation commensurate with the candidate's training and experience. Compensation: $115,000 annually; fuel & health benefits; matching IRA contributions
