What are the responsibilities and job description for the Schools - Occupational Therapist position at ProCare Therapy?
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide evaluation, treatment planning, and direct services to students with disabilities from preschool through 12th grade. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to help students achieve their functional goals and participate fully in the academic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to identify students' needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on developing fine motor, self-care, and sensory processing skills
- Provide individualized and group therapy services in the classroom, therapy room or other settings
- Recommend and design assistive technology solutions and environmental modifications
- Collaborate with IEP teams to monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans
- Maintain accurate treatment records and comply with federal/state regulations
- Provide training and support to teachers, parents, and staff working with students
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
- Current VA Occupational Therapy license
- Experience working with children/students in a school or clinical setting preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively
