Duties for the General Manager will include allocating budget resources, formulating policies, coordinating business operations, monitoring, and motivating staff, managing operational costs, ensuring good customer service, improving administration processes, engaging with vendors, hiring, and training employees, identifying business opportunities, and monitoring financial activities.
Supervisory responsibilities
- Management and supervision of all staff within assigned location.
Essential functions
- Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans for all departments.
- Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately.
- Bring out the best in branch personnel by providing ongoing training, coaching, development, and motivation.
- Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective action to meet challenges and leverage growth opportunity.
- Share knowledge with other branches and leadership on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs.
- Address and resolve client and employee satisfaction issues promptly.
- Adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulations/applicable laws.
- Consistently meet deadlines established by direct supervisor or above.
- Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company.
- Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration.
- Report directly to Market Operations VP on all issues and needs within branch.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Other duties
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, including weekends and holidays, when needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum 5-7 years’ success supervising operations teams of 30 or more staff
- Strong track record of effectively leading teams to obtain desired business results.
- History of developing others into leadership positions
- Must have a strong work ethic and show proven metrics for success.
- History of implementing change management
- Lean/Continuous improvement experience is a plus.
- Goal driven, “can do” mentality; willing to jump in and work hard-- lead by example.
- Experience with A/V video equipment and production preferred.
- Highly detail-oriented with superior organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects.

- Ability to interact with customers on a professional level.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, clear verbal and written communication. Fluency in English required.
- Must have demonstrated time management skills and be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced multi-task environment with minimal supervision.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a stressful environment with ability to adapt positively to changes in the work setting with ease.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and execute other job functions with high attention to detail.
Physical demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- The position requires the ability to see clearly (with or without the aid of glasses or contact lenses) during responsibilities on and off a computer.
- Must be able to communicate effectively by listening and in both written and verbal forms.
Travel required
- As required.
Required education and experience
- BS/BA in business administration or relevant field
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience working in a Windows / MAC OS based environment.
- AV industry experience preferred.
