Description
•REMOTE. Must live in Indiana. Will coordinate with other assigned ODA staff members, including data analysts, data scientists, and business intelligence developers to facilitate communication with division subject matter experts and ensure the identified data/technical solution meets the initial requirements the SMEs provided.
- Identify and compile business requirements and translate them into detailed functional specifications
- Ensure a complete understanding of all technical specifications to meet business requirements
- Facilitate communication between technical staff and program area subject matter experts
- Support the project manager in adhering to project timeline and tracking project-specific meeting notes and key milestones
- Comprehend the business and information needs of the agency and translate them into BI/analytics/reporting requirements.
- Assist with defining and documenting indicators of performance (KPIs) and quality metrics and ensuring compliance with data-related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
- Develop improvement strategies to meet the business needs and develop business process modeling procedures.
- Support testing of data analytics project deliverables (e.g., dashboards, reports, etc.)
- Maintain appropriate documentation around Business Intelligence solutions and systems (e.g., Tableau, SAS, Power BI, etc.)
- Identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of data assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness; represent data as a strategic business asset.
- Assist with developing and executing training programs and communication plans to improve user adoption and effectiveness of new and existing data products and systems.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Analytics, Programming, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of relevant business analyst and/or project management experience.
- Experience in gathering and documenting business and technical requirements and use cases.
- Experience with participating in and facilitating joint requirements gathering sessions.
- Exceptional analytics, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent change management and relationship management skills.
- Ability to be a bridge between business and IT.
- Working knowledge of how to implement and grow adoption of business applications is preferred.
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, SAS and/or other BI/programming tools is preferred.
