Summary: The Quality Control Manager is responsible for establishing and managing all branch Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities. Serve as Branch Quality Management Representative for all system requirements and ensures delivery against QA department goals and objectives, i.e. meeting commitments and coordinating overall quality assurance schedule. The Quality Control Manager provides the necessary definition, development and deployment of product quality assurance strategy, throughout all phases of product development and process implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned.
- Monitors product & process quality through return material authorization (RMAs), scrap and rejects. Takes action to contain, correct and solve quality concerns at the root level.
- Manages Inspection department to ensure timely and efficient practices are being utilized so that products are monitored for correct requirements.
- Acts as a liaison between the organization and customers; responds to quality assurance issues and provides problem resolution.
- Ability to travel to customer and vendor sites to solve product issues.
- Management representative for ISO 9001/AS9100 and all other developing quality systems (AS9100C, ISO 14001). Acting lead to organize and implement internal and external audits for the branch.
- Continuously evaluates quality systems, procedures and processes to ensure continuous improvement by using Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) analytical tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. General knowledge of geometric tolerances (GD&T)
- Other duties and assignments as required.
Education/Experience:
- Machine Shop background in Quality Management
- Management experience in Quality Assurance and Quality control preferred
- Extensive experience with a Quality Systems background with ISO9001 and ASD9100 experience preferred
