The Facility Technician position will use proper safety measures when completing daily assignments, and meet and comply with necessary accessibility standards.
- Performs and manages the upkeep and repair of all properties managed by Progress.
- Perform preventative maintenance as directed be the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Responsible for on-call maintenance.
- Prioritize and execute work tasks in Maintenance Care daily.
- At the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor actively pursue quotes from independent contractors for major remodeling/repair projects, and routine services (such as, lawn care, snow removal, weed control, pest control, etc.). Present all bids to the Maintenance Supervisor for review/bid approval.
- Visit each location a minimum of once a quarter to determine the need for repairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Candidate must be 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED. Prefer at least 2 years post high school education or experience in the construction trades, maintenance, or related field.
- Maintain a valid Iowa Driver’s License with a good driving record, and a private automobile used to carry out job duties. Hold adequate liability insurance (required: $100,000/$300,000/$50,000).
- Ability to comprehensively review work and ensure that all aspects of it are proceeding in the right direction.
- Ability to troubleshoot and provide quick solutions to unexpected problems.
- Works independently to meet scheduled deadlines.
