Lead BCBA
At Project Play Therapy (PPT), our job is to help others see and celebrate each child’s unique gifts. We open doors by fostering opportunities for growth and independence through play. We specialize in speech, occupational, physical, and ABA therapy in both school and clinic settings. In addition, we provide school psychological services, counseling, and music therapy.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:
The Lead BCBA position is a full time, salaried, management position at Project Play Therapy whose focus is to facilitate quality service delivery across all school partners. The Lead BCBA is expected to use innovation, leadership, and problem solving to engage school partners, teachers, families, and clients in order to ensure quality of care. The candidate must be motivated to grow with a young, vibrant company, and be energized by ongoing collaboration and the endless pursuit of excellent service.
The Lead BCBA is responsible for:
- Promoting PPT’s client-centered philosophy and holistic approach to ABA to ensure individualized care for all ABA clients
- Collaborating with PPT leadership to ensure standardized quality of services across all behavioral services
- Overseeing behavioral assessments and treatment recommendations
- Promoting continuous improvement of clinical plans and documentation through feedback/coaching
- Fostering positive relationships between school partners and PPT
- Training of staff to ensure compliance with company and BACB standards
- Serving as a thought partner to the Clinical Manager
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and contribution to the School Leads team
Additionally, the Lead BCBA is responsible for supervising and supporting each School BCBA within their caseloads. This position reports directly to the Director of Behavior Services.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Client Service
- Develop and strengthen relationships with school partners and other stakeholders to establish rapport and trust
- Establish and maintain cohesive communication and excellent service delivery, including treatment planning, progress monitoring, and parent training
- Adapt communication style to meet the needs of each school partner, PPT employees, and other stakeholders
- Demonstrate best practices, inclusion, problem-solving, and proactive communication
- Work within a team environment that values communication, accountability and collaboration
Operations and Development
- Partner with PPT leadership to create, monitor, and adjust program KPIs
- Collaborate with the leadership team to implement both technician and BCBA hierarchy structure to ensure a sustainable and high quality of service is consistently attained
- Manage teams of BCBAs and RBTs, ensuring compliance to operational policies and procedures
- Train staff to ensure innovative and high-quality services in accordance with best practices and current research
- Assist in new hire interviews and ABA orientation for new BCBAs and RBTs, including empowering and coaching BCBAs to execute hiring process
- Facilitate quality assurance program within service delivery
- Create protocol to ensure compliance with all insurance payers and school partner needs
- Maintain monthly billable hour requirement, to be determined with supervisor
- Act as a liaison between BCBAs and PPT Leadership, including holding monthly group meetings with School ABA team, bi-weekly meeting with BCBAs, and weekly individual meetings with BCBAs
- Assist leadership team with special projects, including strategic plans for expansion of the ABA program into surrounding counties
- Assist in managing program expenses and resource management
Candidate Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Special Education or another related field such as Applied Behavior Analysis or Psychology
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Tennessee State License as a Behavior Analyst from the Health-Related Board, or a willingness to obtain if out of state
- 3 years of experience as a BCBA with supervisory experience of direct reports
- Experience creating and leading professional development opportunities
- Integrity, advocacy skills. Must be comfortable leading meetings with outside stakeholders, internal management and/or other stakeholders.
- Ability to problem solve effectively to meet and surpass the needs of school stakeholders
- Ability to manage in a way that promotes a culture of community, excellence, and efficiency.
