We are looking for a talented Technical Writer to create, develop, write, and edit material for manuals, reports, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications.
- Creates customer parts manuals for large scale ProMach equipment.
- Assists and revises operations manuals based on redlines provided by the supervisor.
- Works under the supervisor's direction to obtain necessary information for daily tasks.
- Assists in editing and laying out graphics for use in manuals.
- Creates a parts manual using Bill of Materials and Assembly drawings.
- Revises manuals when conversions or upgrades occur.
- Revises published materials based on redlines and recommended revisions from supervisor or others.
- Helps revise Power Point Presentations for executive management within ProMach.
- Organizes material and completes documentation assignment according to set standards regarding order,
- clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Takes video footage of each machine running in a simulated production mode, prior to machine shipment.
- May take photographs of equipment on shop floor for record keeping and documentation purposes.
- Creates machine-specific videos based on individual requests from the Sales Department; these videos can include graphics, design work, audio, as well as narration.
- Supports other Company initiatives such as Team Boards, 5S Documentation, CIP Escalation Team and safety video editing.
- Updates and records all machine checklists including the electrical data sheets supplied by Manufacturing; maintains records and files of work following ProMach standards and procedures.
- Travel and provide engineering field support for machine installation, setup and service for all Fogg customer base and/or our dealer/agents, maintaining optimum quality customer service, as required.
- Support Fogg customers, Sales Department and Purchasing Department on project control specifications. Answer engineering customer service telephone calls.
Who we’re looking for?
Bachelor of Science in engineering and/or graphic design discipline or equivalent, preferred.
- 1-year engineering and/or technical writing, and/or graphic design experience required, packaging industry preferred.
- May include machine design, tooling, controls or field maintenance, mechanical desktop, 3-D drawing, and/or Internet experience.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have PC/Computer skills, which include knowledge of word processing, data analysis and spreadsheet applications, including knowledge of integration and manipulation of digitized photographs, charts, tables, etc.
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.
