Job Title: Test Publisher
Reports To: Test Production Manager
Location: Canton Office – Baltimore, MD
Summary
The Test Publisher is responsible for the construction of high quality examinations that will give our candidates the best possible testing experience. The ideal candidate will be able to balance multiple projects at once, consult with clients, maintain documentation of our examinations, and provide troubleshooting support as needed. Organization and strong communication skills are necessary to succeed in this position.
Job Description
Create computer-based examinations using propritary software based on the documented requirements, ensuring accuracy and quality of finished product.
Audit the examinations for typographical and formatting errors, inconsistencies, and other issues that would impact the quality of the exam.
Verify the functionality of the examinations; Clearly communicate and assist in resolving quality issues to broader teams and stakeholders.
Troubleshoot software and operational problems; provide support to clients and client services on software and technical issues. Interact with clients in a professional manner through written and verbal communications.
Required Skills
The most important skill required for role is transforming data from one file format to another, and importing that data into our internal systems.
For example, converting an HTML or Word document into Excel, having the ability to separate elements and attributes into different columns and rows.
A strong understanding of HTML and CSS web design standards is required, as you will need to be comfortable reading and manipulating HTML documents.
Profeciency using Microsoft Excel features and functions is critical.
For example, combining or comparing multiple columns of data using the INDEX and VLOOKUP functions, removing duplicate rows of data, and creating pivot tables.
Beyond Excel, you will need to be familiar with general functionality of the Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
You will be assigned multiple projects, each having a set of deliverables, due on different dates, which needs to be prioritized accordingly. Being able to transition from one project to another based on shifting business needs, client delays, or other unforseen changes is required.
Good communication, organizational, and problem solving skills are also required.
Proficient in the English language, including grammar, spelling, and semantics.
Preferred Skills
Skilled with troubleshooting software or other technical problems.
Prior Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience
Experience in front-end scripting languages such as JavaScript and VB Script.
Familiar with Team Foundation Server and Visual Studios 2012.
