The Benefits Analyst will be detailed-oriented and experienced to join our Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in benefits administration and a proven ability to manage open enrollment projects. This role involves analyzing, administering, and optimizing employee benefits programs to ensure compliance, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals. Reporting to the Sr. Manger, Total Rewards, the Benefits Analyst is an analytical professional with attention to detail and deep interest in understanding and communicating data to stakeholders and partners, as well as developing the models that support recommended approaches. Being comfortable managing several projects at once and helping key decisions makers to make sound decisions by analyanalyzing data and working on critical issues.
Must live in South Florida or Houston Texas to be considred for this role.
Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration:
- Manage day-to-day operations of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), etc.)
- Assist employee with benefit inquiries and issues, providing prompt and accurate responses
- Coordinate with benefits vendors to ensure smooth administration of benefits
Open Enrollment:
- Assist with the annual open enrollment process, including planning, communication, and execution
- Develop and deliver employee communication materials related to open enrollment, ensuring clarity and understanding
- Conduct enrollment meetings, webinars, and one-on-one sessions as needed to assist employees in making informed benefit choices
- Analyze and compile data from open enrollment to report on trends and participation rates.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze benefits data to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for cost savings
- Prepare and present detailed reports on benefits usage, enrollment statistics, and financial impact
- Ensure benefits data integrity across systems by performing regular audits and reconciliations
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits (e.g., ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA)
- Maintain accurate documentation and records to support audits and legal compliance
- Stay current with changes in benefits legislation and recommend necessary plan adjustments
Vendor and Relationship Management:
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and benefits vendors, resolving issues and ensuring service level agreements are met
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of benefits vendors and plans
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of benefits administration
- Provide recommendations for plan design changes based on employee feedback and market trends
- Special projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field experience
- 2-5 years of experience in benefits administration or a similar role
- Strong understanding of employee benefits programs and related laws and regulations
- Proven experience managing open enrollment projects
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with attention to detail
