Position: Grants Program Manager

The Prospector, based in Ridgefield, CT is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The Development Team seeks an experienced Grants Program Manager to drive its mission further. The Grants Manager will report to the Director of Development and will research, identify, and prioritize grant opportunities that align with The Prospector's evolving needs, strategic objectives, and mission.

Responsibilities:

Grant Management

● Cultivate new grant-making opportunities while stewarding existing contributors on a local, state, and federal level.

● Prepare, assemble, draft, and submit materials for grant proposals and reports, including LOIs, RFPs, narratives, budgets, surveys, etc.

● Maintain a grants database, regularly updating and monitoring relevant information (dates, funding priorities, contact information, etc.)

● Maintain a library of supporting materials; ensure grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement and grant budgets.

● Collaborate regularly with the Director of Development, Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, and department heads to establish funding projects and priorities.

● Manage grant calendars, deadlines, and reporting requirements to ensure timely submission and compliance.

● Cultivate and maintain relationships with grantors, donors, and funding partners to support ongoing fundraising efforts

Research and Development

● Research potential funding sources, building unique profiles detailing possible opportunities

● Leverage statistics, trends, and data for use in proposals, reports, speaking engagements, etc.

● Integral member of the Development team, participate in special fundraising activities (gala, etc.)

● Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development

Leadership & Management

● Lead by the Prospector’s high standards of excellence

● Supervise part-time development prospects that may assist in grant research

● Participate in community events, service learning opportunities, and professional development

● Further the Prospector’s mission, model, culture, and standards

● Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

● Demonstrates passion for the Prospector’s mission

● Undergraduate degree required

● Minimum 4 years experience in nonprofit grant writing, with a proven track record of securing 5-6 figure gifts

● Experience preparing, writing, compiling grant proposals and reports

● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

● Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

● Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

● Experience with CRM systems

Compensation:

● Competitive compensation commensurate with experience

● Employee health benefits package (for eligible employees)

● Wage range: $70-75k per year

● Hybrid Role after 90 days
