JOB SUMMARY |
|
The Hardware Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to prototype:IT employees and customers by assisting with shipping, receiving, documenting, and imaging of hardware.
This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing and troubleshooting hardware and software equipment.

Physical Requirements:
- Moderate lifting or exerting force of up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year customer service experience
- Relevant IT work or extra-curricular IT experience
- Experience with Windows 10/11, MacOS, and PC hardware components
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team
- Hands on hardware troubleshooting experience
- Proficiency with Windows and MacOS operating systems
- Familiarity with hardware imaging tools and software
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and peripherals
- Ability to operate tools, components and peripheral accessories
- Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
- Provides superior customer service practices
- Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing hardware and software issues
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Shows initiative to improve current processes and suggest new ways of accomplishing tasks
- Work independently and seek assistance as needed
- Meticulous attention to detail when performing hardware imaging and documentation
- Understanding of networking and server hardware is a plus
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS |

Essential:
- Perform shipping and receiving functions for hardware, software, and other office items
- Process incoming hardware and software by applying asset tags and updating records accordingly
- Apply images, and install and configure applications to prepare computers for client use
- Diagnose hardware and software issues, and work with vendors to replace or repair hardware as needed
- Log and track work performed in ticket management system
- Organize, track, and manage hardware and software inventory
- Perform various office and administrative tasks as needed
- Approach all encounters with customers and fellow employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Maintain compliance with prototype:IT’s standards including regular attendance, grooming, and security guidelines
Marginal:
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
• Attend meetings/training as required by management and participate n continuing education.
Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
