Licensed Practical Nurse

Duties:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities.
- Assist with patient assessments and document findings accurately.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as wound care, dressing changes, and catheterizations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems (e.g., Athenahealth).
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment during procedures (e.g., sterile processing, aseptic technique).
- Provide care for patients across various specialties, including occupational health, behavioral health, cardiac catheterization, ophthalmology, etc.
- Assist with toddler care and infant care as needed.

We are looking for a compassionate LPN with an ability to remain calm under pressure. The LPN will be responsible for monitoring patients, performing routine checks, and assisting doctors and nurses.

To be successful as an LPN you should be able to take direction and work well in stressful situations. A good LPN has great observational skills and empathy for patients while remaining professional.

LPN Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients throughout their treatment.
  • Perform routine checks of patients' vital signs.
  • Ensure that patients take their medication.
  • Assist doctors and registered nurses.
  • Liaise with patients' families.

Job Types: Contract, Travel nursing

Salary: $1,700.00 - $1,750.00 per week

Standard shift:

  • Night shift

Weekly schedule:

  • 5x8

  • Seward, AK 99664: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • LPN (Required)
