Description
Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes on inpatient or outpatient cases using ICD-9-CM and CPT coding systems, assigns DRGs using the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) MS-DRG and All Patient groupers and abstracts data for statistical, reimbursement and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Upon hire: National Certified Inpatient Coder. Or
Upon hire: National Certified Professional Coder. Or
Upon hire: National Certified Coding Specialist - American Health Information Management Association. Or
Upon hire: National Certified Coding Specialist - Physician - American Health Information Management Association. Or
Upon hire: National Registered Health Information Administrator - American Health Information Management Association. Or
upon hire: National Registered Health Information Technician - American Health Information Management Association. Or
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree. Or equivalent educ/experience.- equivalent from two-year college or technical school or completion of a certified coding program. Will consider applicants with approximately two years experience and relevant and applicable education.
2 years ICD-9-CM and CPT coding experience performing hospital-based inpatient and out patient coding.
