Description

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for accepting and sorting all donated items for Re-Sale Boutique.

Receives and sorts all donations following all agency health and safety standards.

Job duties include:

  • Receives and sorts all donations following all agency health and safety standards.
  • Coordinates and schedules donations drop off and pick ups in a timely manner
  • Attends store related events, meetings and training sessions as requested by store manager.
  • Notifies supervisor promptly of concerns voiced by customers, donors, volunteers and participates in follow-up when requested.
  • Communicates effectively and provides feedback with a positive attitude to all internal staff and volunteers, customers, and donors.
  • Promotes a positive image both to the community and within the organization and demonstrates understanding of agency mission and philosophy.
  • Ensures donations are sorted and the environment is safe, clean, orderly and free from, hazards to customers, staff and volunteers.
  • Develops and executes a monthly plan for sales promotions with the Store Manager to ensure collection of appropriate merchandise and understanding of store trends.
  • Demonstrates competency in daily operations of the store.
  • Works collaboratively with the Ministry staff and volunteers to create buy-in and the cooperation necessary for display and promotion of merchandise for the sales floor, cases, and windows.

Required qualifications:

  • Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information
  • Experience as a retail store or thrift store sorter or merchandiser

About the Team

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses.
