Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or equivalent in related field and at least 7 years of relevant work experience.
Job Summary:
Manages and assists the Director in financial and operational analysis activities with a complex functional or broad organizational scope. The senior manager will be able to assist in multiple activities at one time with little supervision.
Job Duties:
- Assists with the preparation and analysis of the Academic Enterprise annual budget including monthly projections and variance processes.
- Manage the monthly close process on behalf of the Academic Enterprise coordinating completion of the monthly presentations, variance explanations, and various schedules amongst the AE-Finance team members.
- Supervise, coordinate, prepare and/or analyze complex financial and operational report, financial statements, scorecards, metrics, benchmarks, budgets, and financial forecasts across multiple areas such as payor mix, service mix, provider productivity, student enrollment, grants, etc.
- Manage the funds flow agreement mechanics between the health system and academic enterprise.
- Maintains a documented system of policies and procedures.
- Oversees and validates complex analysis of historical and projected financial and operational data to provide leadership information to make relevant financial decisions.
- Manages and validates information to support developing trends that will inform forecasts and management decision making.
- Oversees the quality assurance functions of financial data and statistical information in monthly reporting.
- Recruits, hires, evaluates, develops, mentors, and provides performance feedback to employees.
- Remains current with and progressively learns industry trends, analytical techniques and appropriate financial systems necessary to complete essential job functions.
- Participates in the development of and adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA and/or Masters’ Degree in Business or related field is preferred.
- Experience in Health Systems and/or Academic Medicine is preferred.
- Possess and demonstrate advanced knowledge of Peoplesoft, Hyperion, ePSi, Excel and/or other reporting and analytical platforms such as PowerBI, Power Pivot, Qlik, EssBase, and/or SmartView.
- Possess and demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding, with progressive development, of financial statements and relationships, analytical techniques, operations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, practices, and procedures.
- Progressive development of the ability to analyze/evaluate data.

Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
