Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills to include experience with electronic medical records systems
  • Proficiency in computer and typing skills
  • Ability to multitask in a clinical and administrative environment
  • Two or more years of experience providing clinical support in healthcare clinics preferred

Minimum Education: A Bachelor Degree in healthcare, sciences, or psychology preferred and/or equivalent experience. Associates in psychology, or healthcare is acceptable

Responsibilities:

Healthcare Coordinators are responsible for supporting telepsychiatry services for a specified group of clinics with a focus on excellent medication management services by:

Primary:

  • Optimizing patient attendance by assisting in the patient appointment confirmation process the day prior to appointments and other attendance improvement activities as directed by the Director of Clinics and QI Team
  • Working with MAs to ensure they are proactively identifying and resolving hurdles for their attendance in clinic appointments, check in processes, and provider interaction/visits to provide excellent care and support for patients
  • Expediting HIPAA-compliant communication between providers and patients through the EMR or other communication channels, and translating when needed

Secondary: (These duties generally expected of Healthcare Coordinators are bestowed upon them over time)

  • Monitoring new provider notes for completeness and adherence to peer review feedback
  • Supporting providers by completing prior authorization forms for medications and making providers aware of formulary changes
  • Developing additional knowledge and skills in behavioral health field with emphasis on psychiatry and psychopharmacology
  • Assisting with QI projects such as quarterly chart reviews, data compilation and provider utilization.
  • Assisting with QI projects: Monitor clinics allocated in regard to their efficiency, deficiencies, staffing changes and needs, and assist the low performing clinics for improvement

Telepsychiatry Services

Focus on the patient, displaying genuine care and empathy in all interactions, and ensuring patient satisfaction. Follow workflow procedures for day-to-day coordination of clinical support and quality improvement projects.Understand and follow applicable Federal and State laws (e.g., HIPAA), regulations (e.g., OSHA), professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with PMPI policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and protect patient privacy and security.

Demonstrates compassion and care by proactively identifying and resolving potential problems to ensure patients are receiving excellent care and support. Collaborates with clinic supervisors and staff to resolve issues and deliver timely resolution of any telepsychiatry related concerns.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
