    Salary Range: $45,000-$94,315

    Teacher Innovation Zone
    (2024-2025 School Year)

    The Pueblo District 60 Innovation Zone consists of seven unique schools that provide educators with the opportunity to engage in teaching and learning that is equally challenging and rewarding. Our innovation zone leaders and teachers:
    • Create genuine and meaningful relationships with students
    • Recognize that each student is unique and believe that every student can be successful.
    • Engage with colleagues to design and implement high quality instruction.
    • Pioneer new ideas and approaches to teaching and learning that can be shared throughout the district.
    • Adopt a growth mindset, overcome barriers, and remain persistent in their pursuit of student success.

    Throughout the year, teachers within the innovation zone will:
    • Collaborate with colleagues throughout their school and within the zone.
    • Build community through professional development and social events and activities.
    • Participate in additional zone-specific “innovation days” during the school year.

    Innovation Zone Middle School Teachers in hard to fill positions such as Mathematics Teacher and ESS teacher qualify for an additional annual stipend as part of their employment. Other positions may also receive a bonus based on the needs of their building.

    SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
    The primary responsibility of the MTSS / School Culture TOSa is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential; Performs instructional and related duties in accordance with District policies and terms of the teacher contract. The Teacher also maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Valid Colorado Teaching License within 60 days from date of hire
    • Five (5) years of successful years of teaching experience
    • Valid Colorado Driver License
    • Employee must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check and must be cleared by the Office of Human Resources
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Secondary Enorsement
    • 3-5 years successful teaching as demonstrated by references, evaluations and student growth data
    • Experience implementing effective literacy instruction including foundational skills and comprehension strategies
    • Experience using Common Core State standards to plan instruction.
    • Experience with a blended learning model or a desire to learn
    • Experience with AVID implementation or a desire to learn
    • Experience in a Title I setting or low income setting
    • Experience with Teach Like A Champion Strategies
    • Successful experience implementing strong classroom routines and procedures demonstrated by references and evaluations
    • Experience with STEM based educational philosophy and instructional practices.
