PSE's Customer Energy Mgmt & Renewables team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Quality Assurance Specialist position!

Job Description
Reviews and evaluates energy efficiency projects installed by independent contractors in order to verify installation, examine the quality of installation and to calculate energy savings achieved or to be achieved. Quality assurance ensures all program standards are adhered to including customer and structure qualifications, quality of contractor workmanship, effectiveness of installed measures, and home performance before and/or after customer’s program participation. Inspections are performed to determine contractor and/or customer eligibility for PSE grants or rebates. Informs contractor of findings, potential consequences and remedies for work not meeting the standards specified by the program. Trains independent contractors on PSE systems, certification requirements and rebate qualifications. Requires a significant amount of field presence and travel within the company operations area. The ability to communicate PSE demand-side management programs and identify best practices in providing energy efficiency services and installation of energy efficient equipment and materials is also required.
Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities
- Monitors a variety of project types, which may include simple site installations, home and/or business energy performance analyses, and/or review of energy efficiency program installations.
- Performs inspections on energy audit performance including interpreting and analyzing test results.
- Documents findings and enforces program standards through proper communication channels with contractor engagement, contactor quality control management, and other PSE elements. Provides concise descriptions of both deficiencies and remedial actions taken.
- Communicates with contractors and appropriate management personnel regarding deviations from approved installation, operation or maintenance. Additionally, communicates inspection results with energy efficiency program management, and other PSE departments as necessary.
- Coordinates correction of discrepancies with contractors.
- Identifies, tracks and reports contractor performance issues and trends.
- Understands and adheres to PSE quality assurance standards for validation and sample population research requirements.
- Works within a team environment to achieve an optimum quantity, variety and level of inspection.
- Recognizes immediate and long-range effects of design defects, poor construction practices and product problems.
- Identifies preemptive solutions.
- Weekends and evening work may be required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in building science specific to heating, cooling, lighting, weatherization, and/or other energy efficiency products and projects.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service and customer issue resolution.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, utilization and file management.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in various Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Proficient in the use of digital cameras and camera software.
- Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification, NW Public Power Association (NWPPA) Residential Inspector certification, or equivalent certification.
- Experience as an energy services professional.
- Familiarity with local, state and federal building codes and ordinances.

The pay range for this position is $53,500.00 - $83,100.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
