Pumo Insurance Agency, Inc is an established independent insurance agency accepting applications for a Personal Lines Account Manager. The primary responsibility of this position is to service, renew and develop existing commercial accounts. In addition, this position is responsible for developing new business and selling new accounts. The position is a sales/service role; with emphasis on service.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Perform all account transactions on existing accounts including applications, quotations, ID cards, proposals, summaries, endorsements, certificates, binders, cancellations, follow-up, and correspondence on assigned accounts using the Agency’s Management System.
- Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail, and company requests on a timely basis.
- Develops prospects and sale of new commercial property, casualty, bond and professional liability insurance policies and risk management programs.
- Maintains and documents prospect contacts to gain information on expirations, insurance needs and receptiveness to proposals.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with clients and carriers.
- Expand knowledge of the insurance business by engaging in self-development activity and relevant insurance course work (CISR, CIC, CPCU etc.).
Education/Experience Requirements:
- College degree or equivalent work experience desired.
- Relevant experience preferred but will train the right person. New graduates will be considered.
- Illinois Property Casualty and Health and Life license preferred. Must pass within 90 days of employment.
Job Specific Competencies:
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are needed to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Specialized knowledge of commercial insurance products. Demonstrated ability to meet sales goals.
- Excellent PC skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, internal and industry standard software.
- Excellent ability to evaluate, analyze and quantify the financial impact of the issues involved.
- Excellent ability to foster and cultivate strong working relationships with external contacts. Innovation and flexibility are essential to meet the demands of an ever-changing market.
- Ability to keep informed of trends and developments.
