Indirect Buyer, MRO

Objective of the Position: Responsible for the procurement of a commodity group, supplier performance management, commodity strategy of given sub-commodities and commercial management support within the plant or at the corporate level.

Essential Accountabilities:

• Develop knowledge of commodity and supply base; develop regional strategy in concurrence with global strategy for the BU region.
• Execute on the global and regional strategies.
• Negotiate best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for assigned commodities.
• Prepare sourcing board documents per the standard.
• Support Plant, Corporate and Global VA/VE activities
• Attend program meetings as requested as an extended team member.
• Process Request for Quotes (RFQ) and send data through data exchange.
• Maintain MaCo initiatives, reports for their commodities.
• Actively use the tools, MaCo, SLM, Softcon, and SAP
• Support Accounts Payables when necessary for supplier invoice issues.
• Provide monthly reports as needed.

Secondary Accountabilities:

• Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Purem within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
• Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
• Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all Purem BUAM polices related to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirement Profile:

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of purchasing experience within the given sub-commodity group (preferably Automotive).
• Knowledge of MRO / Indirect commodities based on prior employment or studies.
• Minimum three to five years’ experience in Cost Analysis and Supplier Negotiations
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• SAP experience a plus.
• Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
