Thrift Store Manager

The Thrift Store Manager is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and selling skills, keeping the sales floor stocked with merchandise, assisting in display of merchandise, and organizing the sales floor and stock areas. Under the direction of the director essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Always ensure appropriate coverage in store.
• Supervision of volunteers in performance of tasks to ensure compliance with published directives and guidelines.
• Provide training for new volunteers on store policies and procedures and the level of customer service expected.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of merchandise on hand, sales and discarding.
• Responsible for adequate amount of change at the beginning of each day, always safeguarding cash in registers and safe and banking of cash receipts.
• Proficient in using social media and online marketing.
• Responsible for maintaining good customer relations with customers and the community and setting example by greeting all customers and donors.
• Assures that safety measures are established and maintained consistent with the policy and governmental regulations and that hazards are reported to the director.
• Responsible for the protection of property and building.
• Responsible for maintaining and increasing store sales as projected by budget and goals set with the director.
• Implement appropriate loss prevention measures.
• Other written or verbal duties as may be assigned.
• Lead support volunteers on continued task of sorting, pricing, and merchandising items as quickly as possible.
• Execute visual standards and maintain a safe, inviting store appearance.
• Assist with floor sets, window changes, visual presentations, signage placement, etc.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of previous retail sales/customer service experience.
• At least 2-year retail experience in supervisory position preferred.
• Must be able to operate POS/Cash Register and have ability to schedule and supervise store staff and volunteers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, volunteers, customers, and donors.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
• Ability to operate a telephone.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.

Salary

• Hourly plus commission.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.15 - $12.50 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Weekend availability
