PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The HR Specialist will perform various Talent Management tasks in support of the operations team, as well as the HR department’s daily activities. The HR Specialist responsibilities include coordinating interviews for all operations positions, starting the onboarding process, participating in job fairs and hiring functions, assist with updating our employee records with new hire information and other assigned tasks.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HR Specialist may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:
- Assist with maintaining accurate and complete employee files and entering employee master file changes into the HRIS.
- Start the onboarding process for candidates identified as hirable by operations. Once the employee's tasks are completed, assist with completing the company's task for onboarding.
- Prepare and send decline notifications for those candidates that are not being offered a position.
- The HR Specialist will also be the uniform storekeeper. They will assist the HR Coordinator with inventory, as well as ensuring orders are sent for all items to be in stock.
- Take an active role with the HR Coordinator in orientation and the Traditions training.
- Oversee the J-1 program for the Katy location.
- Collaborate on Learning and Development projects.
- Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars, as needed.
- Other duties as requested by the HR Coordinator, Director of Human Resources, General Manager and/or company President.
Requirements
- Preferred at least 1 year of HR experience or studied a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and possess strong integrity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of recruiting and onboarding preferred.
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and able to successfully multi-task by recognizing priorities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- May be required to stand for long periods of time.
- May be required to lift at least 20-50 lbs.
- May be required to be exposed to direct sunlight, hot temperatures, or rain.
- Must be able to multitask and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work well with others.
