Description
The Hideout Restaurant is seeking a Barback. This position is a mult-task role and will also be helping to food runner and bussing of tables.
Essention Functions of this position:
- Demonstrate your ability to be a team player.
- Run food to table or hotel room in a timely and efficient manner.
- Memorize table numbers and seat numbers of the dining room and bar.
- Follow opening & closing side work sheet for food runner position
- Show you can put the needs and expectations of our guests first, and prioritize.
- Working knowledge of employee policy and operation manuals.
- In-depth knowledge of the menu, products and contents, as well as company philosophy.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety and health procedures.
- A friendly and consistent manner with fellow employees & guests.
- Effective communication skills
- Daily commitment to the gift of serving others
- Ability to acknowledge mistakes quickly
- Effective time management skills
- Assisting the bartender with setting up the bar with all glassware, bar tools, plateware, & napkins needed for the shift.
- Assisting the bartender with setting up the back bar and wells with all liquor bottles.
- Assisting the bartender with making syrups, infusions, & bottled cocktails.
- Assisting the bartender with cutting fruit, filling juices, & stocking purees for specialty cocktails.
- Keep the bars stocked throughout the night, always facing beers, wine, and liquor forward.
- Have a strong knowledge of liquors and beers carried in house.
- Keeping the beverage rooms stocked with the proper level of product and changing kegs when needed.
- Assisting the bartenders and servers in keeping the bar area clean and free of debris.
- Maintain a cheerful, positive attitude and appropriate conduct with both guests and teammates at all times.
- Assisting the bartender with breaking down the bar at the end of the night.
- Throwing away all trash at the end of the shift.
- Sweeping & mopping behind the bar after every shift.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least one year of restaurant experience is recommended
- Previous experience as Barback, Food Runner or Similar
- Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisor and fellow employees
- Must be able to work a flexible shift schedule to include weekdays, weekends, AM, PM and split shifts.
- Must be able to handle guest requests and/or complaints
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and able to multi-task
