Job Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve the company's sales targets and growth objectives. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, leading a team of sales representatives, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets in the designated territory. The Sales Manager will focus on expanding the customer base and driving revenue growth through direct, face-to-face interactions with clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruits and selects skilled sales representatives to build a high-performing sales team.
  • Leads, mentors, and motivates the sales team to enhance performance and achieve sales targets.
  • Fosters a positive and high-performance sales culture.
  • Sets clear goals and expectations for the team and monitor their performance.
  • Conducts regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve sales skills and effectiveness.
  • Develops and implements sales plans and strategies to achieve targets and expand the customer base.
  • Identifies new business opportunities and markets for growth.
  • Leads the team in identifying and closing new business opportunities through direct interaction with clients.
  • Develops and implements effective sales strategies and plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Analyzes market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities.
  • Drives performance through focused oversight such as monitoring activity and progress.
  • Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Ensures the sales team provides excellent customer service and addresses customer needs effectively.
  • Handles escalated customer issues and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Manages sales budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Collaborates with marketing and other departments to support sales objectives.
  • Conducts market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Oversees the sales pipeline, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of sales activities and results.
  • Prepares regular sales reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Utilizes CRM software and other tools to track and analyze sales data.

  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a sales team including setting objectives, monitoring performance, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers, team members, and other stakeholders.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • Five (5) years of experience in healthcare sales required. Preferably in healthcare services.
  • Three (3) years of experience managing a remote sales team.
  • Familiarity with government contracts required.
  • Experience working within a non-profit organization preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • Employee will work remotely from a home-based office with frequent travel of approximately 50% to meet with clients and potential customers or attend industry events required.
  • Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on customer needs and business demands.

  • Employee will constantly communicate with others regarding employment related information or instruction and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • This role requires constant use of standard office equipment such as computers and telephones to receive and share information.
  • Employee must be able to read and interpret information displayed on a computer screen.
  • Employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • This role occasionally requires the employee to lift light objects up to 25 pounds.
