Position Overview
The main responsibility of the National Architectural Consultant is to interact with new and existing customers in the architectural community to create business opportunities and increase the specification and use of Quaker's window and door products in the commercial market segments. The Architectural Consultant will be seen as technical resource throughout the project. The Architectural Consultant will be a key team member who helps develop strategies to offer design solutions, furthering Quaker's ability to achieve increased market penetration in the US market.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Offer design solutions using Quaker Commercial products to dealers and general contractors
· Interact with Quaker dealers, building owners, and general contractors to connect the performance and design of the specification to match their expectations
· Update and develop American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education Unit (CEU) content for architects
· Deliver weekly AIA CEU Lunch and Learns for Architects in person and virtually
· Attend industry trade shows and represent the Quaker brand
· Develop and maintain relationships with architects, customers and key influencers engaged in local construction projects
· Through training, develop and maintain a high degree of technical knowledge of Quaker products
· Drive preference to Quaker products over competing product brands with architects
· Conduct technical product presentations that address issues, needs, trends, technical/compliance capabilities and solution offerings
· Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.
· Interact and communicate with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.
· Virtual availability to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.
· Communicate via email, prepare reports and work plans.
· Review and analyze data and information on Quaker products.
· Plan and prioritize architect, customer & influencer visits.
· Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibility
No direct management or supervisory responsibilities.
Safety
Observe safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment; report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. During any job site visits, follow job-specific safety requirements such as Ladder Safety, Power and Manual Tool Safety, Safe Lift and Scaffold Safety.
Travel
Extensive overnight travel is normally required. Approximately 50% in continental U.S. for meeting customers in architectural community, maintaining relationships with key Quaker dealers and sales team colleagues. Meal per diems are provided and hotel charges are covered.
Qualifications
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Knowledge of building material products (especially windows & doors) is highly desirable
· Ability to professionally present to large groups on technical requirements
· Knowledge of the principles and methods for promoting products
· Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook
· Knowledge of Salesforce or comparable Customer Relationship Management program strongly encouraged
· Maintain a valid driver's license
Preferred Education and Experience
The expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.
· Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
· 3-4 Years Experience in technical sales / support required
· Premium or specialty building material sales experience preferred
· Proven experience executing a market strategy and tactics

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

This is primarily an office job. The position requires the ability to climb stairs, lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand as necessary. Vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Although the employee will primarily be in an office setting, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to visit the job site or factory and be exposed to climactic variations, various levels of vibration, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the office is usually low, but hearing protection may be advisable or required for prolonged visits to certain parts of the factory.
