Position Summary:
The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the company wide effort for analytical and operational Master Data, assisting with ongoing governance and oversight for master and reference data in support of business needs. Working with a cross functional team, the data analyst will provide for master data management tool administration in addition to assisting QH business partners to execute master data-related policy and process.
This is a junior technical analyst/developer role, with development work consisting of both new development in addition to maintaining and enhancing existing master data applications and data integration. The data analyst candidate should have a good understanding of data manipulation and analysis, SQL querying language, and exposure to contemporary data warehousing tools, in addition to being able to support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of these tools.
Job Accountabilities:
- Maintain and enhance master data ETL processes for all inbound and outbound system interfaces.
- Deliver cleansed and transformed master data information to downstream data warehouse and business intelligence applications.
- Document user and technical requirements, prepare master data design, and implement solutions in MDM database technology for the collection, management and processing of information from internal and external data sources.
- Maintain existing data and implement new data in the Global Master Data Hub in support of a range of activities including regulatory (including SOX), Business Intelligence projects, general IT controls and acquisition & system integrations.
- Profiling of data including production and some financial and then clearly documenting findings in approved documentation templates.
- Populate and maintain master data, data mappings, data attributes, hierarchies and data relationships in a central master data tool.
- Provides assistance in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction and process control and improvement with global process & data owners, global master data team members, subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards.
- Analyze and troubleshoot problems in the enterprise master data technical platform, recommend remediation activities, and implement approved solutions.
- Create and execute MS SQL Server database queries to support ad hoc requests.
- Enhance processes to eliminate potential duplicates in the enterprise master data.
- Support internal compliance reporting and process audit review.
- Help ensure master data integrity in key systems; maintain required processes to support data quality.
- Work closely with the business/IT to ensure alignment of master data rules and the operations of the application meet all requirements.
- Perform Master Data Management tool administration in support of best practice system configuration within the IT audit and compliance framework.

Education, Experience, and Skills/Competencies:
Key Education or Certification Required
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems required.
Required Minimum Number of Years of Relevant Experience
- This is an entry level position. Prior internship experience in data management, architecture design, and working in partnership with data warehouse and business intelligence teams is highly preferred
