What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant position at Quality Marine?
The candidate must have solid working knowledge of general bookkeeping principles. The applicant should display strong organizational and communication skills. Must have the ability to prioritize and meet weekly, monthly and quarterly deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accounting and clerical functions to support accounting personnel
- Post customer payments such as checks, ACH and Wires
- Credit Card reconciliation on a daily basis
- Enter Billing into Quickbooks
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and resolve discrepancies
- Organize weekly check and wire reports
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Verify, process and post credit card payments
- Prepare daily bank deposits
- Process check requests as needed
- Assist in month end closing
- Sort and distribute incoming mail
Skills: Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills research and resolution skills, data analysis and mulit-tasking skills.
