Controller
Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Controller to work hands-on with all financial aspects of our manufacturing operations. The Controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions of the company in addition to financial planning, analysis, reporting, and control functions to ensure the company's financial health and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role will provide strategic guidance as we continue to grow with a focus on driving operational efficiency and maximizing profitability.

Essential Job Functions:
- Accounting: Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management in support of strategic initiatives, drive process improvements and efficiency gains within the finance function and across the organization. Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline financial processes. Will be instrumental in the planning and rollout of a new ERP system.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Provide timely and accurate financial reports to management and stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads. Monitor performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Cost Management: Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Work closely with operations teams to optimize production processes and reduce inefficiencies.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes, including inventory valuation, cycle counts, and reconciliations. Ensure accuracy of inventory records and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives. Evaluate investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and capital expenditure projects.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective risk management practices.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in financial management. Manufacturing and/or Agriculture industry experience working with commodities/grain is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and cost accounting methodologies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software applications; advanced Excel skills required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience in leading and developing finance teams.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and decision-making.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
· Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
