Molokai General Hospital is a 15-bed rural health care facility with a Critical Access Hospital designation. It provides the only hospital and emergency room for the residents and visitors on the island of Molokai. MGH is an affiliate of The Queen’s Health System since 1987. Molokai General Hospital provides acute care, inpatient hospice, skilled nursing, and low-risk obstetrical services. Responsibilities
Molokai General Hospital, a Queen’s Health System Company, is looking for a Part-Time Physical Therapist. This position offers excellent benefits, relocation, exposure to outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation as well as aquatic therapy, in a beautiful, well equipped hospital setting.
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible to the Physical Therapy Manager. Provides inpatient and outpatient Physical Therapy services. Prepares all documentation of evaluation/assessment reports, individualized treatment plans, and progress reports to include data and records required in patient’s medical records and reports to referring physicians. Functions as a resources person and facilitator of hospital-wide and Medical Staff Performance Improvement (PI), Utilization Management (UM), Infection Control (IC) and Employee Health.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential: Seeing, hearing, speaking, standing, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, twisting body, finger dexterity, lifting weight up to 75 pounds, pushing/pulling weight up to 200 pounds, carrying weight up to 75 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Continuous: Seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, and finger dexterity. Operates all office equipment, electro-stimulator, surface EMG, ultrasound, traction unit, and exercise equipment.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Both inside and outside environmental conditions, hazardous physical conditions with some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids, and atmospheric conditions which affect the respiratory system or skin.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• A registered member of the National APTA preferred.
• Hawaii State licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• BLS/HCP level certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in outpatient, acute care facility, and aquatic therapy preferred.
