What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Sales, Homeowners position at Quilt?
Our mission is to move humanity off of fossil fuel heating. 20% of US global warming emissions come from homes (that's more than cars!). The largest driver of home emissions is burning fossil fuels for heat. To stop climate change, over 80M US homes need to transition from combustion to efficient, electric heat pumps over the coming decades.
We believe for this to happen the world needs fantastic products that are easy and desirable to purchase. Today's heat pumps lack great design, make limited use of software, and are difficult and stressful to adopt. We are building a next generation, beautifully designed, AI optimized home heating and cooling system that is 10x better than what is on the market today. And we are making it easy to purchase and adopt by managing all sales, rebates, permitting and installation for our customers.
Role
Quilt is looking to bring on a fantastic, consultative revenue leader to establish our sales function. Quilt has many thousands of high-intent customers on a fast growing waitlist for our product that averages $30K per sale. We are building a team of Quilt Advisors to guide interested homeowners through the adoption process. Quilt Advisors will be the primary touchpoint for homeowners throughout their purchase journey, guiding them through an important (and at times intimidating) major purchase decision for their home.
The Head of Sales will found and lead that team, establishing a high performing sales organization within Quilt. The ideal candidate is a player-coach to start who can grow with us to lead a fast-growing team.
This is an opportunity to help homeowners with a real and often challenging project for their homes that will both improve their quality of life and make a major impact on reducing carbon emissions.
Responsibilities
- Establishing the sales function within Quit – the culture, processes, systems, incentives, and key metrics
- Hiring, leading and managing the Quilt Advisors team
- Interfacing directly with homeowners to build customer empathy and develop insights to improve the sales process
- Working closely with the Quilt marketing team, customer support, founders, and product team to create a world-class customer experience.
- Partnering with marketing to convert inbound interest into customer adoption
- Defining and achieving operational excellence for the sales team
Requirements
- Proven sales leadership experience at a fast growing organization.
- Experience with homeowner concerns and home improvement projects. In particular, experience with home electrification, hvac, and/or ductless heat pumps is a very strong bonus.
- Interested to be a hands on seller while building the process, playbooks and team for the Quilt Advisors organization
- Prior experience scaling revenue at a high growth company, building and leading high performing teams
- Demonstrated success collaborating with finance, product development, marketing and senior leadership teams, contributing to company-wide strategy
- Experience working with and presenting to company leadership and the Boards of Directors to inform near and long-term decision making
- Well-versed in CRM tools, the data needed to manage the business, and creation of accountability through metrics
- Passion for making a real impact on climate change
This is a full-time, hybrid position in our Redwood City office.
The expected base salary range is $200,000-$220,000 with performance-based variable pay & target bonus in addition. Quilt also offers meaningful equity and top-tier benefits.
