Area Manager, Operations Planning

The Opportunity With support of the Regional Operations Planning Manager, identifies staffing need for all distribution functions based on site production standards and assumptions. Use information provided by Operations Planning and Analysis group to effectively schedule and manage staffing levels within each department. The Operations Planning Wave Assistants, Operations Planning Support Specialists and Operations Planning Assistant roles will directly report to this position. You will work on site at our Ontario, California location. Your Impact Work with site management and the corporate analysis group on developing all operations staff schedules based on the staffing plan. Identify base, seasonal, flex, and overtime needs for all direct and indirect positions. First contact for all staffing inquiries, reports Support budget development and variance justification process (will work with Operations Planning) Conduct employee schedule preference bids consistent with the site base scheduling requirements. Develop computer-based models for staffing and operations to maximize production. Work with corporate forecasting and analysis group by communicating varying assumptions and deviations to the staff plan/forecast (absenteeism, vacations and meetings). Oversee site Variable Labor Program to include ensuring onboarding and orientation processes are in place Lead Operations Planning Support Specialist and Operations Planning Assistant team and Operations Planning Wave Assistant team (where applicable). Monitor team performance, provides coaching, feedback and development. What You Bring Excellent analytical skills required with 1-3 years scheduling experience Operational experience associated with the site activity to include an understanding of workflow processing with 1-year experience.
