In a nutshell, your job will be to convey the tremendous history, exceptional people, and ongoing value proposition of RDO Equipment Co. to a range of stakeholders. Reporting to the VP of Communications and External Affairs, as the Communications Manager, you will be leading all aspects of external communications. You will manage an internal team of specialists focused on social media, video, digital editorial content, and public relations. Together, you will create compelling, brand-building content to advance our business goals. Your responsibilities will include forming our content strategy, supporting the creative development of content and its distribution as well as reporting on the effectiveness of this content to internal stakeholders.
Key to success for this position are exceptional writing skills, knowledge of digital and social platform strategy and measurement, as well as ability to effectively coordinate and deploy resources of our team and vendors.
Specific Duties:
- Lead a team of communications professionals to develop a coordinated, impactful, multi-channel content creation and delivery strategy.
- Develop and manage the delivery messages through a range of formats and platforms that connect and resonate with intended audiences.
- Provide direct and specific guidance and review for all collateral and content, including digital copy, PR pitches, bylined articles, social posts, and videos.
- Establish and manage the measurement of content performance, analyze the information, and develop strategies to improve impact.
- Stay on top of industry and competitor news as well as social media trends, influencing the content strategy and sparking creative direction.
- Build strong working relationships with various stakeholders and establish a content-mining system resulting in stories featuring our customers and team members.
- Manage all inbound requests from internal and external stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met while managing workflow for the team.
- Work with senior leadership in order to understand our past and present, as well as our future vision, to develop effective communications programs for a range of stakeholders.

Work closely with the marketing team to ensure editorial content and measurement alignment.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- 8 years’ experience in communications and social media management with B2B2C experience a plus. Please note that while this position will be managing all external communications, a strong knowledge of social media is a must.
- Strong writing and editing skills including knowledge of AP Style
- Experience managing multi-platform editorial calendars and content development
- Experience managing and motivating a team
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration and influence with stakeholders and partners
- Experience with TalkWalker, or similar social media measurement software
- Ability to be driven by creative intuition but also to use data to test and prove your gut instincts and to course correct.
- Strong written, verbal, time-management, and execution skills.
- Naturally motivated and self-directed.
- Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
