Reporting to the Vice-President of Safety, the incumbent will be responsible for the coordination of safety and compliance in the assigned Region. Effective needs evaluation of individual service centers, the planning of intervention programs, and delivering solutions are on-going duties along with the availability to assist in urgent matters 24/7.
Week-end on-call rotation for the department's safety coverage, along with research, continuous personal development, policy, and audit work, all form additional duties and responsibility of the incumbent. The facilitation of 1:1 or group training, and safety meetings requires superior evaluation and communication skills. Analysis of data for trends and performance evaluation of Service Centers will be a critical skill required to be successful.
Job Requirements
- CDL with H & T or X endorsement(s), required.
- Three (3) years of CMV driving experience; City & Linehaul, preferred.
- Computer skills in MS-Word, MS-Excel, and email, required.
- Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills, required.
- Excellent attendance record for the previous 24 months, required.
- No corrective action / discipline for the previous 24 months, required.
- Clear three (3) year MVR record, required.
- Safety Management experience, preferred.
- Accident Review Board and / or Safety Committee service, preferred.
- Safety Coaching Experience, preferred
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, preferred.
- Experience in training facilitation, audit or consultation skills, preferred.
