Role Overview
As a Coax and Fiber Technician, your expertise will drive our ongoing projects, working with fiber optic cables across various environments including aerial setups, underground systems, and commercial infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the pulling of cables through commercial edifices, ensuring a seamless setup.
- Establish splice locations, termination points, and manage comprehensive fiber optic constructions.
- Take charge of fusing fiber optic cables, accommodating both small-scale and expansive projects within production setups.
- Lead in testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks, steering acceptance testing and problem identification.
- Operate headend test equipment proficiently.
- Embrace other duties as delegated, showcasing versatility and commitment to the role.
Skills and Qualifications
- Certifications required
- High school diploma or GED is a prerequisite.
- An associate degree in electronics or a related field will be an advantage.
- Prior experience in the telecommunications realm is desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Technological adeptness with the ability to maneuver specialized programs and databases.
- A critical thinker with the ability to analyze situations, prioritize safety, and find logical solutions.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Possession of an unrestricted current driver's license and DOT med card is essential (Candidates without a DOT card will be required to secure one before commencing employment).
