Job Description:
The Director of Store Systems & Technologies leads a group of Solution Managers, Developers, Business Analysts and Engineers in the Information Technology department and acts as the face of this team to internal customers. This individual sets team expectations on deliverables, communicates with internal clients, and identifies and proactively solves any problems. The Director is responsible for overseeing all strategic initiatives, building business cases for investment and for providing guidance on all project functions within the specific Information Systems team. Up to 10% travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains strategy for Store Technology in conjunction with the business needs, IT Security, Enterprise Architecture team and Digital Experience team.
- Sustains a consistent store technology architecture that enables consistency as well as monitors awareness of technologies in the retail space to ensure the highest quality up-time and minimizes impact to guests and store teams.
- Collaborates with business owners on needs related to Store Systems and translates them into actionable requirements; tracks budgets and timelines throughout process.
- Leads cross-functional teams of engineers and advocates on their behalf, removes roadblocks, and helps them navigate how to achieve goals while holding them accountable to project commitments and quality standards.
- Establishes and manages relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leadership throughout the company to communicate and guarantee the delivery of a high quality product.
- Discovers new opportunities to optimize the business through improved processes and functional enhancements.
- Creates well reasoned business cases backed by data to invest in people, process, and technology to drive the highest ROI.
- Works with the team to plan and execute projects in a timely manner while delivering upon the customer’s expectations.
- Develops and refines metrics for project and individual performance; communicates said metrics to developers and motivates all team members towards buy-in and personal and group accountability on these goals.
- Directly manages IT professionals and ensures growth and career development opportunities are provided; serves as an expert in the Information Systems field and provides leadership and direction to team on industry best practices.
- Works with Executive Director of Store Systems and Technologies to assess current processes, systems, and tools to update and ensure the most efficient project lifecycle.
- Maintains accurate lab environment that closely represents as possible current technology deployed in the business and allows for end to end testing of all hardware and software prior to deployment in the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology preferred
- 10 years of people and systems management experience
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skill with the ability to multitask in order to balance immediate and long/term priorities preferred
- Facilitation skills and demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams preferred
- Effective oral and written communication
- Experience in Order to Cash, Inventory Management, ERP solutions a plus.
