Duties:
- Answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate department or staff member
- Greeting and checking in patients as they arrive at the facility
- Collecting and verifying patient information, including insurance details
- Scheduling appointments and managing the appointment calendar
- Assisting with patient registration and updating patient records
- Providing excellent customer service and addressing patient inquiries or concerns
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
- Handling billing and payment processing for patients
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office setting preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and empathy
- Proficient in using phone systems and basic computer applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
Please note that this position may require occasional evening or weekend shifts, as well as the ability to handle emergency situations in the ER.
