**Please Note: We are currently hiring at our VALDOSTA LOCATION only, at this time. This is not a remote position and you will be required to be onsite every day.**
We are looking for an Accountant/Bookkeeper/Office Manager to manage our financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. Some responsibilities will include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. Your responsibilities will include the following and more:
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions for Rain Pro Irrigation & Hiers Fence Company within Quickbooks
- Prepare budget forecasts
- Publish financial statements on time
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable within Quickbooks
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Ensure timely payment of all company bills and personal bills
- Compute taxes and prepare tax materials needed by our accounting firm
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Comply with financial policies and regulations
Skills
- Work experience as an Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
- Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus APPLICANT MUST HAVE AN EXCELLENT WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF QUICKBOOKS ENTERPRISE. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED FOR QUICKBOOKS ENTERPRISE OR QUICKBOOKS 99.
- Applicant must have an excellent working knowledge of windows 10, Microsoft word & G suite Gmail. Applicant will be responsible for organizing & entering invoices, receipts & bills. Must be able to prepare quotes and invoice customers. Must be able to produce custom profit & loss reports and be prepared to provide this data on request. Must be able to organize the bills and keep them entered accurately into the Quickbooks monthly bills calendar and see that they are paid and up to date at all times WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS.

Communicating with accountants and tax return preparation is required A/P & A/R. CANDIDATE MUST BE NEAT, EFFICIENT & ORGANIZED.
Must have basic knowledge of Quickbooks 99 and up. Must have a good driving record and an active drivers license. This position will require a person who is motivated and committed. You may be asked to stay later than 8 hours if an assignment has not been completed in a timely fashion and the task needs to be done. May be asked to cover other staff while they are on vacation or out sick. The ability to work independently and complete tasks without supervision is a must. Must be a self starter and flexible.
Tardiness will NOT be tolerated. Hours are 8am to 430pm. M-F flexible if needed. Cleaning and sanitizing due to COVID-19 is a team effort and everyone is expected to pitch in. The candidate should be willing and able to assume all responsibilities required of an Office Manager for Rain Pro Irrigation management team. 30 to 60 day probationary period Background check required.
