What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher position at Raising Stars Child Care?
About us
Raising Stars Child Care is a small privately owned daycare center. We are a play based school that likes to let children have hands-on, real life, exeriences. We don't do curriculum or lesson plans or any sort of "prep work" for crafts that usually takes longer for us to put together than a child will take working on it. Our classrooms are set up with intention for the kids so when they arrive at school they can choose what they want to learn for the day instead of being told what to do constantly.
As teachers, we step back and watch the play happen and their imaginations unfold. There is so much learning and exploration in the works when we let kids continue what they're working on, instead of rushing them to be done to go on to the next task or circle time. This also limits behavioral issues because WE DON'T MAKE KIDS DO WHAT THEY DON'T WANT TO DO!
At our school we are a team and try to support our teachers the best way we can and help when needed. We like to come to work and have a fun day and play with the kids so work isn't actually "work," it just feels like play and goes by fast!
If you enjoy playing with kids and having fun and letting them get dirty and not having to constantly control everything they do (because that's practically impossible), come play with us!
