What are the responsibilities and job description for the Blaster position at Ramp Inc?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift this includes by not limited to all cranes and tools and complete the necessary documentation. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift.
- Stripping of materials using grit, aluminum oxide or other media on tanks and other parts by directing flow of girt on metal parts to remove sand, rust and dirt.
- Varies concentration of grit or aluminum oxide and selects appropriate pressure to obtain required surface finish.
- Applies masking materials to protect areas not to be grit blasted and screw in plugs to protect threads.
- Replenishing the abrasive hopper when necessary.
- Keeps equipment clean to ensure proper operation.
- Removal of exhausted girt or aluminum oxide from basting room.
- Associates may drive and transfer material into the blast area.
- Adhere to and abide by all ITAR-specific job standards and training. Protect and properly safeguard ITAR-sensitive information and work product; ensure dissemination or disclosure of and access to “protected data” occurs only with those trained and approved for exposure to ITAR content.
- IMMEDIATELY notify Supervisor/Manager, Human Resources, Legal (email: compliance@samuel.com ) or the Samuel Ethics Alert Hotline of known or suspected unauthorized disclosure, release of or access to protected ITAR content.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- Respirator and blasting hood. Respiratory must be medically cleared.
- Basting equipment, blower, shaker, and various related machinery.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work will in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
- Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
- Must have a basic understanding of computers.
- Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS of WORK:
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are 40 hours, Monday through Friday; to be determined by each division. Standard hour requirement is four (4) – ten (10) hour shifts. Overtime hours may be required beyond standard schedule.
- Travel is not required.

The blaster shall have the responsibility of following all specific quality instructions and reporting all non – conforming material or conflicting instructions to the quality assurance department.
Must prove that employee can meet the essential duties of the job within 90 days by completing employee training checklist F-HR-720-02-03-08.
Salary : $34,300 - $43,400
