- Manage daily operations, including customs clearance, shipping, labeling, and cargo distribution to meet customer specifications.
- Engage in regular communication with customers to address inquiries and ensure satisfaction.
- Supervise assigned team members by assigning tasks, providing training to backup staff, and offering direct guidance to team members.
- Monitor individual workloads to maintain optimal team performance. Arrange coverage for absences or holidays as needed.
- Facilitate the distribution of documents to appropriate team members and ensure timely redirection of emails and other instructions.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accounts within the team.
- Utilize forklift equipment to load and unload freight as required.
- Prioritize documentation and customer service tasks (66%) alongside warehouse duties (33%).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or significant relevant work experience.
- 3 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry.
- Proficiency in analytical skills, including familiarity with logistics and planning concepts.
- Knowledge of international commerce, including incoterms, customs regulations, and shipping methods.
- Familiar with Gateway system and Department of Transportation regulations
Work Environment
This role operates within a small team environment alongside Office Managers, Sales, and Air and Ocean Cargo staff. The workplace includes both office and warehouse settings, with a business casual dress code.
