Junior Accountant

A company in Ronkonkoma, NY is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team!  This person will be responsible for assisting the controller with initiating and monitoring company accounting activities such as bank reconciliations, cash application, financial reporting, general ledgers, A/R and A/P.  This is a temp to perm opportunity with a salary of $65K-$68K.  Must have at least 2 years of Accounting experience with an Associates Degree in Accounting.  Please send your resume to lauren.bash@randstadusa.com to schedule a virtual or in person interview.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
• Record monthly journal entries and prepare bank reconciliations
• Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
• Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations

• Assist with month-end closing process, maintain schedules in support of year-end close, and assist with audit requests
• Perform monthly accruals, adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary
• Responsible for bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Communication and interface with other departments to ensure accuracy and operational efficiency
• Assist with collection and submittal of State, City and Environmental reporting information
• Perform other accounting duties and serve as backup for AP/AR dept.
