Responsibilities
- Meets with lawyers, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Drafts legal paperwork, such as routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, and files them in accordance with judicial procedures.
- Conducts research and analysis on statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal resources, providing written assessments to attorneys.
- Conducts interviews with clients and witnesses and creates summaries of their statements.
- Manages case files, organizing, storing, and retrieving documents, including evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other relevant materials.
- Assists attorneys with trial preparation, and may attend trials and hearings.
- Maintains detailed records of billable hours spent on specific cases.
