DescriptionAthens, GA, US“Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.”Duties:  Responsible for leading the activities associated with the preparation of media components in an aseptic clean room environment according to USDA regulationsEnsure compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures during execution of processes.Ensure adherence to production schedule and complete associated documentation in compliance with regulatory requirementSupport cross-functional activities as requiredResponsible for completing direct and indirect assigned tasks (for example, cleaning, work order escalation, lab setup, etc.) related to departmental functionsPerform preventative maintenance and general upkeep on equipment and facilities including environmental monitoringResponsible for maintaining accurate area inventories for raw materials and suppliesAdhere to current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP)Participate in key improvement opportunities and implementation of selected new ideas (including deviation and change control management)Escalate issues related to personnel, process and products to the appropriate leadersParticipate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions to address problemsAssist with training and coaching of current and new employees on required skillsDemonstrate a visible & tangible commitment to HSE, Lean Principles, and the Merial Values in all work related activitiesIn addition to the above, other assigned duties & projects deemed appropriate within the position scope Knowledge and Skills.Skills:     Knowledge and SkillsComputer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Basic math skillsAbility to work in a team atmosphereAbility to communicate effectively (verbal and written)Demonstrated ability to problem solveDemonstrated training skillsRequire knowledge of the current GMPs and USDA requirementsEquipment/Process trouble shooting skillsClean room and aseptic technique knowledgeBasic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principlesOrganizational and time management skills with attention to detail Required:Education:            RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferred:B.S. in Biology or relevant field, laboratory experienceManufacturing experience
